About the speakers: After a 30 year career in corporate marketing for brands like Dunkin' Donuts and Au Bon Pain, Ed Frechette switched gears to focus on addressing social issues in his greater Boston community. He became the Chief Innovation Officer at UTEC, Inc. in Lowell MA, creating social enterprises where disadvantaged 16-24 year olds are able to get some work experience in a safe and supportive environment. That work lead to an adjunct professor position at Boston College where he teaches about how businesses, nonprofits and government can address social issues. He and his wife Ellen split their time between Truro and Dorchester, MA.

Caitlin Townsend is a marine industry professional with deep roots in commercial fishing, having grown up learning the trade from her father as a third generation fisherman. She holds a degree in Marine Science, Safety and Environmental Protection from Massachusetts Maritime Academy and is passionate about sustainability, particularly in end-of-life maritime waste recycling, working for Net Your Problem, properly disposing maritime waste. Caitlin also works as a deck hand in Bristol Bay, Alaska, where she helps direct-market sockeye salmon, and lobstering out of Provincetown, MA where her family sells lobster off the boat. She is a strong advocate for local, American-caught seafood and fisherman. When not on the water, she enjoys exploring nature with her dog and traveling in search of new searching adventures!
