Gina Chavez 2018

“Gina Chavez's voice stops you in your tracks the first time you hear it.” -- NPR
“...a true Austin music treasure — angelic vocals and a devilish treat on guitar.” -- Austin American-Statesman
If you decide to wear socks to this concert on Thursday, August 2... be prepared to have them knocked off! Nobody impressed us more in NYC this winter -- with her spirit, her power, her personality, her singing and, yeah, her rockin' band --- than Gina Chavez as we watched her blow the roof off the Iridium Club. Gina is an award-winning, bilingual, Latin-folk singer/songwriter who expertly blends the sounds of the Americas with tension and grace. She has received national recognition from NPR’s “All Songs Considered” and “Alt.Latino” for her debut SXSW performance as one of the new Latin artists to watch. The accolades don’t end there as she won Austin Music Awards for two years running, including three Austin Music Awards for “Best Female Vocals, Best Latin Traditional, and Best Latin Rock,” while Southern Living Magazine named her one of 11 “southern iconic women who have left a beautiful footprint across the South,” for her volunteer work in El Salvador.
