Step into a tropical oasis of musical moods and beats to enjoy a soulful blend of Caribbean music with PanNeubean Steel on Saturday, March 29. The event will also feature complimentary snacks (Caribbean-inspired, of course)– arrive early between 5-6pm to indulge with us! (Show starts at 6pm)
Celebrating the steelpan's versatility in Caribbean (reggae, soca, calypso), Afro-Caribbean, contemporary jazz, soul, fusion and classical music styles– is the essence of PanNeubean Steel. Jefferey Clayton (Cape Cod native, musician, artist and educator) founded the band to share his passion for music and personal Jamaican culture– and this is evident through his enthusiasm and dedication to sharing his heritage.
With music Clayton found his voice and many opportunities, and his steelpan adventure began when he enlisted into the United States Army as a trumpet player. After completing three active years he obtained a degree in Sociology, concentrating on social equity and inclusion in hope of providing greater opportunity for those who are under represented or excluded. Clayton then obtained a his master's degree in Music Education because he felt that all children should be provided with the chance to express themselves musically, and he currently works in a therapeutic Middle/High School educating students with social and emotional challenges.
